A pécsi Janus Pannonius Tudományegyetemen a magyar-művészettudomány és rajz szakok elvégzése után a Képzõmûvészeti Mesteriskolán Konkoly Gyula festőcsoportjában végezte tanulmányait, majd ugyanitt DLA fokozatot szerzett 2004-ben. Munkáit a festészet analitikus megközelítése jellemzi. Olyan festészeti alapproblémák foglalkoztatják, mint a színviszonyok, a formák és a színek, a színértékek, felületek és a kompozíció kapcsolata vagy a tér megjelenítésének problémája különböző festészeti eszközökkel, melyeket színtani és térelméleti kutatásokra alapozva dolgoz fel, sok esetben nonfiguratív sorozatokon, ciklusokon keresztül. Máskor ezeket a problémafelvetéseket szintetizálja általában valós látványon alapuló figurális festményeken, egyben újra is problematizálva azokat (Körforgalom 1999-2004; Bejáratlan terek 2016). Legutóbbi kiállításain (Ecru et Blanc ciklus, Csíkok c. kiállítás) a képsík és a fiktív térmélység festői viszonyrendszerével foglalkozott a hordozó anyagára és alapozóra redukált, elemi geomterikus formákból építkező sorozatain. 2006 óta a Pécsi Tudományegyetem Művészeti Karán festészetet tanít.

After graduating in literature, theory of visual arts and drawing from Janus Pannonius University at Pécs, he completed his studies at Gyula Konkoly’s Masterclass at The Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where he also acquired his DLA in 2004. His works are characterized by an analytic approach to painting. Losonczy is interested in basic problems related to painting such as the relations of colours, the relationship between form and colour, surfaces and composition or the representation of space by various painting techniques, problems that he often processes into nonfigurative sequences or cycles drawing on research on colour and space-theory. At other times, these problems are synthesized in figurative paintings based on real-life spectacle (Roundabout 1999-2004, Uncharted spaces, 2016). His latest exhibitions dealt with the relationship of the picture-plane and the fictional depth of space through sequences of paintings constructed of primary geometric forms that were composed of the raw materials of bearing and grounding. Since 2006 he teaches painting at the Visual Arts Faculty of the University of Sciences at Pécs.
